The paper, “An Efficient Front-End for Timing-Directed Parallel Simulation of Multi-Core System”, authored by Zhenjiang Dong, Jun Wang, George Riley, and Sudhakar Yalamanchili, has been accepted by SIMUTools 2014. This paper describes an improvement to QSim Server for efficient parallel simulation of multicore models. In this improvement, proxy processes are created that act as intermediary between the server and the clients. The proxies communicate with the server through TCP/IP, but work with the clients in a producer-consumer manner using shared memory segments. Experiments show that this method can completely mask the TCP/IP latency between the server and the clients and greatly improves simulation performance.
SIMUTools 2014 will be held in Lisbon, Portugal, on March 17-19, 2014.
